Junk drawers, piles of clothes, random papers from middle school, and crafts that you still haven't done... so many things that represent delayed decisions or task paralysis. Even if you're not actively thinking of how clutter can stress you out, your brain may be constantly noticing things, exerting effort, and carrying stress.
Here are some quick tips to intentionally reduce visual clutter. See which resonate with you, or use them as inspiration for your own reflection:
In the place where you normally throw clothes on the floor, place a hamper
Take the labels off of makeup products, lotions, and other bottles
Throw out old and expired things in your fridge, pantry, makeup, etc.
Set a 5 minute timer and see how much you can declutter
Keep a place in each room for things that need to leave that room (e.g. to throw away, to put in another room, to donate, etc.)
Whether it's alongside decluttering or afterwards, consider finding a home for each object in your house to create a sustainable system!
