In January, we talked about Sticking to Your New Year's Resolutions by developing SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Time-bound) goals. Now that we're almost halfway through the year, this might be a helpful time to check in on your January intentions and to see how aligned you feel now.
Here are some questions to consider for each resolution:
How relevant has this goal been for me in the past 6 months?
How relevant is this goal for me now?
How easy or difficult has it been for me to keep this goal in mind? If it's been more difficult, what reminders did or didn't work well for me?
What can I do in my daily routine or environment to better support me in reaching my goal? What are the current barriers or supports?
How realistic is this goal now?
What's one way that I can overcome a barrier to getting closer to this goal?
How would I feel about no longer having this goal?
What changes, if any, do I want to make to this goal (think SMART)?
Whether you're fully on track with where you expected yourself to be or just remembering your new year's resolutions, consider setting aside some time to intentionally check in with yourself and adjust as needed.
