Mickayla Selembo, LMSW

Mickayla Selembo, LMSW, is a passionate social worker whose career has been shaped by a deep commitment to supporting children, families, and the communities they call home. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in LGBTQ Studies from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2019, followed by her Master of Social Work from Widener University in 2023. She became fully licensed as a social worker in Michigan in July 2025.

Mickayla currently works full time with Community Mental Health in the Families Forward department, where she supports children and families navigating the challenges that can come with mental health, family dynamics, and life transitions. She has been working with children since 2015, bringing more than a decade of experience and a genuine passion for helping young people feel supported, understood, and empowered.

Outside of her professional work, Mickayla is deeply involved in the Lansing community. She serves on the fundraising committee for both Constellation Cat Cafe and Happy Feet Pet Rescue, combining her love of animals with her commitment to giving back. She is also an entrepreneur and creative at heart, making and selling homemade candles at local craft shows.

And if that weren't enough, Mickayla is an ordained minister who enjoys the opportunity to marry couples and be part of one of the most meaningful moments in their lives.

At home, Mickayla is happily outnumbered by her four cats. 🐱 Between social work, community involvement, candle-making, weddings, and a house full of cats, she brings a unique blend of compassion, creativity, humor, and heart to everything she does.
