Jason Ross

MSW Intern, University of Michigan

Jason comes to GPS as an intern with the University of Michigan, obtaining his master’s degree in clinical social work. He brings 25 years of experience with personal physical fitness training, health education, holistic health counseling, and counseling those in retirement age. His intellectual passions involve deepening his mindfulness training and furthering his study of Buddhist psychology.

Jason is looking to collaborate with people of all backgrounds and experiences, locally and globally. He believes that suffering, whether it be the death of a loved one or basic dissatisfaction with a job, is a core tenet of life. Therapy can provide the tools and skills to develop methods of responding to suffering. Most important is his method of client-centered therapy, which focuses on the individual and their choices to discover their inner self and how they seek to develop more fulfilling relationships, improve their communication skills, and achieve personal goals. In his personal life, he enjoys learning about new cultures, traveling, and spending time with his family and two dogs.
