Stephanie Neff

MSW Intern, University of Michigan

Stephanie is an intern at GPS as part of studying to obtain her Master of Social Work in Integrated Health, Mental Health, and Substance Abuse. Previous experience working as a mentor for 8th-12th grade students sparked her passion for empowering youth to achieve mental wellness and their personal goals.  This work prompted her to go back to school for her MSW degree.

While teens and young adults inspired her, she has a desire and interest in working with people of all age groups to work through tough experiences such as depression, anxiety, stress, and trauma. Stephanie eventually would like to work towards certification in EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and Somatic Experiencing.

Stephanie is looking forward to meeting clients and learning from her fellow interns and licensed colleagues. She is passionate about creating a comfortable and safe atmosphere during her sessions. She understands the importance of feeling safe when in the vulnerable state that therapy can put clients in.

While not working or studying, Stephanie loves spending time with her boyfriend, friends, family, and two cats. You can often find her listening to an audiobook while crocheting her latest work in progress.
